Community Rules
Last updated: 10 August 2026
Dipper works because people share honest opinions about food and plan meals together. These rules keep it that way. They apply to reviews, photos, group chat, votes, usernames and profile pictures.
Be honest
- Review places you have actually been to.
- Do not post paid, incentivised or fake reviews, and do not review your own business or a competitor's.
- Upload photos you took yourself, of the place you are posting about.
Be decent
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeting an individual.
- No hate speech or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Criticise the food and the service, not the staff's appearance, background or personal life.
Keep it appropriate
- No sexual or pornographic content.
- No graphic violence or shock content.
- No promotion of illegal activity, or of drugs, weapons or counterfeit goods.
Respect privacy
- Do not post other people's personal information — full names, addresses, phone numbers or workplaces.
- Do not upload photos of identifiable people who have not agreed to it.
- What is said in a private group stays in that group.
No spam or impersonation
- No advertising, referral links, or repetitive promotional posts.
- Do not pretend to be another person, a business, or a Dipper staff member.
- One account per person.
Reporting
Every review, photo, message and profile has a Report option. You can also block any user, which hides their content from you and stops them contacting you. Blocks are reversible in Settings → Blocked Users.
If you cannot reach the report control, email support@dipper-app.com with a description and, if you can, a screenshot.
How we enforce
We review every report. Depending on what we find we may take no action, remove the content, limit an account's ability to post, or suspend the account permanently. Serious cases — credible threats, content sexualising minors, or anything indicating immediate danger — are removed on sight and may be referred to the authorities.
We aim to act on reports within 72 hours, and faster for anything involving safety.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notification you received or email support@dipper-app.com. A person will look at it again.
